Angry E Fan Trouble

I got my flex a lite fans hooked up after bout a day and a half but can't seem to get them to come on with the a/c. Can someone advise me on which wire to hook into???
I love the flex a lite set up but the instructions are not user friendly and leave you in the dark with many unanswered questions. The install bolts require and allen wrench which is include but hamper progress. I recommend buying some 10 mm 1/2 inch bolts to substitute for these. Got it all working but the a/c relay...........can someone help???????????

The easiest spot to tie into the A/C is on top of the accumulator/dryer canister. Pax side firewall underneath/behind the electrical distribution block. Tie into the RED/YEL wire on the compressor clutch cycling switch (connector with two wires on top of the canister.)

Look in your manual for fuses and relays. You'll see a AC relay. The fuse/relay box should be under the hood. There are four wires going to the relay. If you use a voltmeter, you'll have one wire with 12 volts on it with the A/C off. The wire straight across from this wire is the one you want to connect to. I have the Flex 270 kit and love it. When setting your temp for the fans to come on, use a thermometer that goes up to 300 degs. I have may fans set to come on at 215 degs. If you follow the instructions, you'll have them coming on at about 180 degs. I feel this is too low a setting. The fans cycle on and off all the time. At 215 degs my fans only run a short time while I'm stop and go traffic. Unless the A/C is on. Then they run full time. I'm working on a speed switch to turn them off if I'm driving above 35 mph. You don't need them once you're above that speed. Since I have a 4x4, I also have a automatic switch that turns them off if I'm in water above the center of the wheels. I hope this helps.

mrjamjam - how is your speed switch for the e-fans coming along?

I've got a prototype built, I just need to have a circuit board made to permanently mount in the truck.

Thanx for the info but I got them going awhile back. Would be interested in the speed switch you are working on though. Let me know how that goes.

If you are using the Flex a lite kit you don't need a circuit board. Terminal #5 is the negative OFF. You run the wire from this terminal to your switch and then to a ground on the truck. When the switch is made this terminal goes to ground and turns the fans off.

I'm on a job site out in California, so I haven't gotten far on the speed switch. It works like an aircraft pitot tube. But if you want something really simple you just need some 1/2 pvc, a level float switch, and a light spring for tenson on the float. Well I guess I need to made a drawing to show you how it all goes together. I'll do that and reply to this post or start a new one.

If you have a picture of your prototype, I would like to see it. Have a great day.

mrjamjam - I'm not using a FAL kit, I fit an electric fan within the stock shroud and am using an ECS conrtoller.

Below is what my prototype speed controller looks like.
