Question Power connection for Tailgate lock?

Once again, I the 2003 KR Screw owner who is blessed with 10 thumbs, am asking for help. I have (well, almost) completed the installation of my power tailgate lock. The lock part itself went fine... after some minor bending. I'll comment on the tailgate handle paint job after I see how it holds up. The wiring for the lock followed the wiring I did for my backup camera.

After drilling a hole for the wiring (according to the instructions), I found the grommet by the driver's side door, so I fed the wires into the cab through a slit in the grommet and caulked the hole that I drilled.

Now here's the problem: Now that the wires are inside the cab in the channel next to the driver's seat, how do I get to the wiring for the drivers-side door lock? The diagram does not show my truck's dash. There seems to be a panel to the side of the dash which is framed by the top and front of the dash as well as the front door frame and the kick plate. Is this where I go for the wires or is there an easier way? (Left to my own devices, I *will* find the most difficult way). If this is the way, how do I remove that panel without breaking something?

Thanks...

Dave

OK, I've answered my own question using the search feature on this site. Ask and ye shall receive... as long as you ask the right question.

The answer was to find the pink/white and the pink wire that run in the channel next to the driver's seat. Tapping into those gave me lock and unlock power with the switches on the door handles and with the second click of the remote. Of course, given two ways to wire it, I did it backwards the first time.

It was a snap to reverse the leads and so now I'm in business.
