No, it will not fit. The bed width on the sporttrac is a great deal smaller that that of an F150. I think a ranger size one will fit.

thanks for responding. While I was waiting for a response, I actually tried a bed extender from a f-150 super crew and it fit!! I couldn't believe it myself! the cage measures 49 inches in lenght and so does the super crew cage....go figure. Now I have to figure out where to get the installation hardware (the cage came out of a wrecked truck, and the installation hardware was all ruined, anybody have any suggestions??

Glad to hear it fit but I still can't figure out how it fit. The f150 has to have a wide bed than a sporttrac. Anyway, If ford parts dealer can't get you the mounting hardware it looks like you may have to hunt around a hardware store until you get everything.

bigsherm77, the reason the bed extender from a sportrac fit on the screw was probably because the rear of the bed on a screw curves in. On a regular F-150 or a supercab, prior to 2004, it may not fit since the rear of the bed does not curve in. Just a guess.

I think you are absolutely right. When I actually have this cargo cage in hand, I will know for sure (it's been shipped to me now). What about the theory that maybe this cage is adjustable, and it just retracts enough to make it fit, and the guy selling it to me can't use a measuring tape (told me box of his truck 49inches)?
