brush guard modification

I am new to the site, but have been viewing it for a while now. I am currently having the same set up as lsuscrew done to me 01 supercrew (3" Pa body lift, with 315/70/17 BFG AT's). My question has to do with relocating my brush guard. It is a euro style brush guard which mounts to the frame, so what is the best way to move it up with the body lift. Should I have some pieces fabricated to move it up also or chop it and weld a piece to work or what? Thanks

I don't have a body lift (or a brush guard yet; it's on my list) but I think that a "chop it & weld" job would degrade the looks of your guard. I suggest talking to a good metal shop as they should be qualified to go either route. Using new mounting brackets and keeping the guard as is would be helpful if you ever want to put the guard on another truck. Maybe the guard's manufacturer can help you out.

By the way, what brand guard do you have?

I did some modification to the brackets(but keeping them where I can re-use them), and it is installed w/out a problem(notched and drillied holes in brackets). I am suppose to get some pics and I will take some pics of the way we mounted it.
