keyless entry

just got 2 new keyless remotes (oem) and i think my module is bad...tried to cycle locks as per manual, and get nothing....(off to on 8 times, last cycle stays on...) havent used keyless in about 6 mos, but it worked fine then..(lost my remote) now i notice that my auto lock works intermittently (locking after vehicle in drive) other times it will engage when i start the ignition while still in park...dont think that is supposed to happen....anyway, dealer says they can check it out for $59, and a new module will be $200 or more.....is there another way around this? any help would be appreciated.

What year is your vehicle? Maybe the warranty wil cover it?

If not, try shopping at different ford dealers, maybe one of them will check it for free.
