Well hind site is 20/20 isn't it? Were you expecting us to agree with the crap that you spewed?? You were going to say Mike was Ok but you left it out to be brief?
JHC, if you are ever going to mention something at the very least get the good stuff out. If you ever wind up in the hospital all bloodied up and wondering about what happened; think not about what you said but about what you didn't say.....

chunky1 - It's obviuous you didn't do your homework. The whole purpose of this forum is to share information and ask for assistance from those who have used the products. Did you even bother to call Mike T. and talk to him about the kit before you purchased it?

Did you ask others on this forum what they thought of Mike T's kit? If you did...good. What you should have done next after receiving Mike's kit and realizing it was not what you wanted was to call Mike, explain your concerns and return the kit (Mike said this very eloquently IMO). You apparently didn't do this as reflected by your post.

Very immature on your part!

Mike T. - Nicely stated!

The man has a right to his opinion. Im sure plenty of you guys have bought something and bitched to a friend or something cause you weren't happy with the product. Or though another one would have been better for you. I know I have. Lay of the guy. He has a right to an opinion just like everyone else.

I had a flex a lite kit on my old s-10. Kind of expected mike's kit to be a simple install like that. I'm still irritated that a vehicle specific kit would have fans that may or may not rotate in the correct direction ( btw swapped wires per the instructions, works great). Why advertise a kit as vehicle specific if it's really not? This kit can be used on any vehicle with a certain size radiator. I was going to say in my original post that I would still recommend ordering from mike because he has good customer service and competitive prices but didn't due to trying to keep my post short. After reading mikes post, I'm not so sure that's my attitude anymore. Why attack me personally for criticizing your product? It will make me think twice before ordering any more from mike.
Let me get this straight - You had to swap 2 wires to make the fans run as "pullers" instead of leaving them and using them as "pushers" and you think this is some kind of problem ?

Well then, you would really hate the Flex-A-Lite kit. The positive wire for the fan was black and the negative was blue (in my kit). Talk about odd... What happened to black as negative and red as positive ?

But, you know what ? I read the instructions and hooked them up as I was told and they work perfectly.

As Steve said (SSCULLY) mounting the Flex-A-Lite was a real PITA. The side mounting screws on the 1 side are almost impossible to get to.

I personally prefer the mounting method the Flex-A-Lite kit uses, as it rests in the factory mounting positions and doesn't require any radiator penetrations. However, that is just my preference.

Just because the PPI fans COULD be installed on another vehicle with the right sized radiator does not mean it is not "vehicle specific". Mike told you it would fit your truck exactly and it does. That makes it vehicle specific, to your vehicle...

Mike T. is a real stand-up guy and would have helped you if you would have called. I don't think it was a true personal attack on you. He read your post and wrote a response which was comprised of what most others here were thinking...

Ive not seen one of your kits, but unless you are making your fan motors, and molding the fans, and casings, I dont see how you are geting any better quality peices then anyone else can buy. Anyone with some mechanical ability can make his own kit. I used two latemodel variable speed 15in fans and have never had an overheating problem, and pull roughly 8500Lbs. most weekends in the Texas heat.

I can settle this for everyone !

Well the only way we can settle this agrument, is for Mike to donate a fan kit to me so I can install it on my truck.

This way I can test out the product and explain the install to everyone. How does that sound !

Funny, I found this post after ordering Mikes fans today. I think I made the right choice. Let me review...

-Good quality S-shaped Derale fans

-The fans run independent of each other so they can be staggered for start up which also gives the kit the dual redundant capability that has been mentioned already.

-This kit allows running only one fan with the air conditioner.

-I am cheep and I tried to assemble the components mentioned here. When I priced quality parts, the kit saved me money.

-The reputation of the company I am dealing with is very important so I know this kit will serve me for many years to come.

-OHH by the way, I saved $50 over the best price I could find on the FAL-270 kit, like I said, I can be cheep as long as I get quality.

I do not always agree with everything I read in Mike's posts and mostly that is because he gets a little TOUCHY/TESTY at times but I can respect that his reputation is EVERYTHING to him and in an environment like this, he has to defend it.

Me on the other hand you can take it or leave it. I post for the enjoyment of doing so and I research EVERYTHING I buy.

I think I will like these fans...

BTW, I also got Mikes Electric fan cooled transmission cooler.

both mike and chunky make good points and for the most part they are being civil.

what gets me as hard to understand is why did chunky install the kit? the minute you pull it out of the box the complaints he stated in his first post would be clearly evident?!?!?

so that being said chunky deserves everything that mike pointed out. mike should not back off. chunky clearly showed his immaturity here. chunky truly went about this the wrong way.

p.s the FAL kit is not vehicle specific either just it's mounting hardware is. do you really believe that fal only uses those fans/motors/control units just for ford f-150's? DUH.
