You may not be able to hardly tell.
The K&N does filter better than the paper filters IMO and you can clean it rather than replacing it so in the long run it will save money. You may notice just a little better power and MPG but not THAT much.
K&Ns use an oil and you will have a maintenance problem becuase the oil over time fouls the MAF sensor which can lead to poorer performance and pinging. The MAF is easy to clean and there are many threads here on how to do it.
Just letting you know up front what you're in for.
If your MAF goes out and you have a K&N don't expect Ford to warranty it.
