Alaska Bound - Ketchikan

Flying into Ketchikan on the 13th of August. Will then be on a float plane over to our jobsite (unsure of that location -- my first trip). They're barging in all of our equipment to the site (several pallets worth).

I'll be in a cabin for 5 nights and then back over to Ketch for our departure to Sea-Tac.

While I'm in Ketch, anything that you guys recommend? Also, there's a VERY good chance that I'll have some helicopter time to burn as we'll have it for the day but likely won't use it for work the entire time. Anything I need to make sure the pilot takes us over in that general area?

Thanks!

I wanna go!!! Please, please, please!! I won't eat much and I'll be very quiet!!

Have your pilot fly you to Misty Fjords National Monument, I've never been there myself but I hear it's beautiful. See if there are any glaciers in the area that you can get to. If you've never seen a glacier up close and personal it is a definite must. They are awesome!! Enjoy your trip, Alaska is the most beautiful place I've ever lived and I miss it deeply.

Just got back from Alaska, wife and I bought 5 acres near Soldotna on the Kenai river. Will probably be moving in 2-3 years. Gotta wait for the 150 diesel to come out! If the fish are running you gotta go!
