Oregon
second time i log in here, i find somebody from coos bay! grew up there, but now live in kennewick, wa. was involved with wheelin' down there for years as a member of the coast rangers club. i learned to drive in the dunes in the early 60's. don't get back near regular enough, tho. still keep involved up here some. current ride is a '98 4X4 150 S/C that's been tweaked a bit.

Hey there raalden!
How much does that trailer weigh?
I'm looking at getting a trailer or fifth-wheel this weekend (hopefully) and it just doesn't seem like I'll be able to get a very big fifth-wheel as compared to a trailer.
Thanx.

Went with the travel trailer instead of the motorhome for the detachable tow vehicle
! I figger she's prolly topping out at around 6k. She's an "ultralight hybrid" aluminum frame slickside with a dry weight of about 4500. Not much more than a nice boat! I don't usually boondock her (carry water and head for the wilderness) so she runs pretty light. We usually just do the RV parks with full hookups and the like. My old 4.6 '98 did fine with her torque wise, we just couldn't seem to pass a gas station! The 05 I just secured will be a better match for her in the long run! Going to introduce them to eachother this weekend. Not going to pull (still only about 350 miles on the new one) but just setup brakes and mirrors and setch!
