I just upgraded my truck to a 2017 F-150 and I'm already missing my audio jack/port from my 2013. Can a microsoft laptop plug into the media USB port with a male to male USB cable and it successfully play audio? I know it sounds a little old fashion and I know it works with an ipod and iphone, but will do it with a laptop as well? I have an GPS mapping system on my laptop and I would love to have the audio come through the speakers.

 

 

If USB speakers or a USB headset works on the laptop, it should work. You may have to set the USB device as your default playback device in the laptop's sound settings.

 

When I first read this, I thought the OP was trying to directly read mp3 files from a laptop.

Interesting to see if this works for just as a USB headset/speakers type device.

 

I did finally purchase a USB A to USB A cord and I never could get it to recognize the sound coming off my laptop. I went the ugly route and have a small speakerbox that connects to the laptop instead.
