Please help!!

I have a factory nav unit, think it is an 07 model. The touch screen doesn't work on it. It also would need reprogramed for my truck. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

I put an 07 factory nav in my 06 also. One thing I did notice is there is an option somewhere in the menus to turn the touch screen off.

Already took it to one and they couldn't do anything because the units screen wasnt functionable. Isnt there someon out there that repairs units? and programs them specificaly to my vechicle if I give them my VIN?

Ebay sells factory refurbished units for like $600. Where do they get them refurbished?

When you installed it.. Did everything work from the beginning? did you have to get it reprogramed?

When I put mine in. The radio functions and all the hard buttons on the side and top of the unit work perfectly, even my steering wheel controls work perfectly. I therefore believe that my screen is the issue. Not sure what the touchscreen on and off is? but I couldnt move it if i wanted to because my screen is dead.

there are stores on ebay that refurbish them, but be careful some of them only refurbish the audio portion of the HU, make sure you read the fine print before you buy their services

Does your screen turn on? Because in the menus you have the option to turn screen off, turn hard buttons off, turn touchpad on screen off. If your screen does turn on go and reset unit to default in the menus.

Everything works on mine. It came out a lariat and I have a king ranch so same options. Except for the rear factory DVD player does not operate properly from the HU.

I'd personally go for an aftermarket unit for that price, even if it was more expensive at least it'd have 2010/2011 maps. And as long as you don't buy one of those no name ones off of e-bay it should sound much better than the factory unit anyway.

FYI for anyone interested... Took my radio to AER a Ford Authorized Radio repair shop here in Kansas City. They fixed me up. Turns out I had a dead touchscreen. They replaced the screen and reprogramed the unit to my truck. Now the GPS, illumination, and stearing wheel controls all work perfectly. Couldn't be happier. Also came with a 1 year warranty!!
