2010 navigation in 2007

pretty basic question ... i got a nav unit out of a 2010 expedition and im trying to put it into my 2007 f150 lariat ... the nav unit has 4 plug spots and my truck has 2 of them ... i installed it and it will turn on for about 3-4 seconds then turn off ... ive heard it wont work at all or i have to get it reprogrammed to make it work ... which one is it ... lol ..if it wont work ill sell it and buy a aftermarket one that will work for it ...

thanks in advance

I know this thread is a few months old but I'm wondering the same thing?????? Only difference being I will be getting the nav unit out of an 09 expedition. It looks like a perfect fit. However being that it is a 09 and I have a 07 F150 (with the factory navigation) what will it take to make happen?

I think the biggest problem is that it came out of expedition going into a f150. I read that the power wires are different across models, so the unit only turns on for a few seconds then turns off. You can change the wires around so they match up to yours, or get it reprogrammed. As far as a 2010 working in a 2007, I don't know.

Just curious Did you hook that one up? If you did did it turn off after a few seconds?
