I can get the rear view mirror and backup camera that fits in the emblem for my 2008 F150 FX4 for a price I am willing to pay.

I know there are aftermarket kits that are cheaper but I don't care for aftermarket parts - I want to stick with OEM, so please don't point out that you sell aftermarket kits or that you installed one that was $30, etc. - great for you but I am not interested in that.

What I am wanting to know is if the wiring harness in the truck has the backup camera plugs available in the tailgate and in the truck - I'm assuming it is in the headliner. If so does anyone have any pictues of the install? If not is there a part number for the wiring harness I would need?

it is in the tailgate.. that is all i know.

I guess the headliner wiring harness including the plug for the backup camera is AL3Z14335JVA but some trucks have it/some don't. Can you find out from the VIN whether your truck comes with the harness or not or how can you determine if the required plug is in the headliner (without taking it off obviously)?

 

that is don't know but the 3 trucks i have painted the handles on all had it. 1 was mine and it came with the camera but the 2 others did nit. it is easy to see. just pull the screws off the access panel and look. 5 minutes of time and you don't need to worry anymore!
