Isimple gateway HELP!!!

I installed the isimple gateway on my 2005 Supercrew FX-4 last night and everything went together fine. I powered the head unit back up after everything was connected and pressed the aux button on the h/u. "no aux audio" appears on the display when i press the button. I tried to plug in my iphone to see if it would play music and it charges the phone but doesnt play music. It just keeps saying "no aux audio" when i press the aux button. I dont know what is wrong ive done alot of research and cant find any help. It almost seems as though the h/u is not recognizing the gateway. Has anyone ever had this problem??? any input is greatly appreciated guys.

You can try looking at my thread here. I'm not sure if it is the same unit

iSimple Install

Also, did you try and hit the AUX button a couple times. I think there are like 3 "presets." Because on mine press once it will say NO AUX, next it will work like normal, and next it will say IPOD connected but not display song but I can control ipod and hear through truck.

Just seen mine is a iSimple: Ford Lincoln Mercury (ISFD73).. Not sure if its the same model

hey superdave I was on the phone with isimple technical support yesterday and basically what they told me was some of the h/u arnt compadible with the gateway. They tech told me that if the part # on your h/u starts with a
4L3T it isnt compadible. Also some of the ones that start out with 5L3T aren't compadible either. My h/u is p/n 5L3T-18C869-AC and that happens to be one that will not work. I went on ebay last night and bought a newer model that should work. Im hoping to get it in soon and I will let you know how I make out.

It turns out the unit I have was damaged, the input connector was poorly soldered to the board. I had talked to tech service before determining this, and they basically told me I was out of luck, the unit may or may not work for my HU. They suggested buying another product of theirs, even after their documentation said the original unit would work for my HU. After I repaired the unit, it seems to be working fine with my HU. Can't say I'm impressed with PAC or Isimple though.

FYI, my radio HU part number started with a 5, built Jan ’05 the tag says.

I bought a new H/U for 54$ off ebay and installed it today. The new one is a 6 disk and seems to be working fine. I need to get an antenna adapter thought because the news head units wont plug into the end of the antenna cable from the older models. Hopefully best buy will have the one I need.
