USB draining iPhone battery

Is it normal for the phone battery to drain while its plugged into the USB?

If not, is this more than likely a phone issue not a USB issue?

iPhone is your problem. Throw that hunk of junk away and buy an Android! but to answer your question. Does the little Charging sign come on in the top right corner when connected? I'd need more specifics on USB is it off of a power inverter or just a simple DC to usb plug in?

The little charger symbol is indicating that it is charging.

I'm using the original cable that came with the phone, one end plugs into the phone the other has the usb male connector that plugs directly into the trucks usb female port connector.

Alright what i would do to test this. Take another device that can be charged via usb. If you have the same problem Then it's your truck. If you don't then it's your phone.

I will do that.
Noticed the back of the phone gets hot when its charging so I cut a big opening out of the rear of this rubber phone protector I have on the iPhone to allow it to disapate some heat and extend the battery life.

Right before the launch of the Droid by Motorola. The android team contacted my company and I was trained on the materials and did demos at best buys lol I'm a huge believer.

to the OP-
It may be that the iphone is drawing too much power from the truck. If you try something with equal power draw such as a smartphone powered via usb. It happens quite frequently on laptops. It's got enough power flowing to A) allow you to use device and B) sometimes will show charging but will not charge. Good luck

This is probably true as it also happens when I plug in the iphone to my small note book.

Also, in the last couple of weeks my phone has not been able to properly charge whether it is plugged in the truck, in the laptop or just into a wall outlet. I think the battery is toast or my jailbroken apps are messing things up.
