2010 factory backup camera

The factory backup camera is in the tailgate badge, this won't work so good when the tailgate is down (very common for me)

Does anyone know if there's a way you can put an aftermarket camera in the licence plate holder and just wire it into the existing harness?

Well sort of; I got an aftermarket camera installed on my 05 F150 STX, and the camera was mounted just next to the tow hitch, underneath the bumper. No issues with the tailgate down there.

Can they take the existing camera and move it? Yeah I am guessing the answer is no since you'd have to have someone with know-how, remove the factory camera and create a housing and bracket for it. I would imagine that you could buy an aftermarket camera, and have it hooked up to the existing wiring. I can't imagine that the price would be all that expensive, since you'd just be buying the camera portion.

BTW, why do you roll around with the tailgate down alot?

I totally understand about the bed toys.

You might be able to check Ebay and such for the camera portion, although I'd be leery of an Ebay seller. I got my stuff at Car Toys, they're a little pushy on the sales (but who isn't these days) but I didn't find them to be jerks about anything, and the install was awesome. I don't know what you've got up there in BC (BTW I'm jealous and I'd move there in a heartbeat!) but good luck!
