reverse camera issues

Hey guys,

I just installed a reverse camera into a tail gate handle. The camera is from kawamall on ebay.

Here is the picture of the issue.

The camera at night is getting some weird lines across the screen. Seems OK in the daytime.

The power is hooked up to the reverse light wiring in the rear drivers side housing.

Do i need to add a diode, is the camera getting some sort of back feed?

Any ideas?

thanks,

Sounds like your getting interference from the lighting circuit. Thats why it only happens at night. Did you install it yourself? How is the video cable run? Does it run along with other wires? If so, You should only come into contact with other circuits at a 90 degree angle. Running parrellel can sometimes cause distortion in the video feed. Also, are you properly grounded? Check the ground connection which should be installed closest to the cam as possible, make sure its a good connection. Other than these you might have to get a filter that needs to be installed close to the cam. There is like a million posts on here about backup cams! I remember seing that someone did install a filter but i cant remember who it was. Hope this helps!
