OEM NAV and touble with Dash Bezel

So I just installed my new OEM NAV and I can't figure out why, but the Center Dash Bezel doesn't fit properly!

Is there something I need to change or modify?

I removed the "Airbag warning" light and it fits fine without it! So I now whats causing the proble, I just don't know why? I was under the impression the NAV would mount the same as the 6 disc player!

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

I just finished the same install and had the same problem. This is what I did.(not responsible for mishaps) Put the radio inplace and with a permenant marker draw around the mounting tabs of the radio. Then also draw around the radio( realy not a whole lot). You will have to trim these pieces of plastic that you marked. On the mounting tabs, just have to trim away the plastic but DO NOT CUT the metal mounting brakets. I was hesitant at first becouse of future radio installs, but it really does not affect mounting becouse one can always use spacers to make up for the trimmed away plastic. A dremel works good, just be carefull with the tools u use bexouse you can easily damage the outside visible dash, cosmetic wise. Hope this helps.

This is very helpful Krane!

after some investigation I could clearly see that the NAV unit stock out farther then the CD player did! I just didn't know the best way around it!

I just bought me a Dremel and hope to have it done tonight!

Thanks for your help

Cheers

No problem nemisus, just take your time and again be carfull with the outside visisble dash, then when done, it will fit nice like the original radio.

that didn't take long at all! Bit of a mess to clean up though... ! End results sure look nice though!

Curious Krane, where did you put your GPS antenna? When I got my Nav (Bought it NEW) there were instructions stating to mount it ontop of the NAV with Double sided tape! I trust thats an ok place?

Cheers and thanks again friend

Thats a good place, as long as the metal part is facing down. Glad to help.
