rail system info

rail system info

2005 f150 lariat - sticker say's dvd ready but i do not see harness do i need to cut out liner to access it and were access is open their is an opening already their it has a 3 wire connector - can anyone please telll me what it is for (color code and what it does)

Do you mean for the overhead dvd player system... Mine was right where the sunglass holder is if you move that back or take it off there will be a hole in the headliner. than just look with a flashlight and you should see a wiring harness well atleast there was one in mine.... Goodluck but it should be there.

the ford systems cost to much i and can fab something to mount it onto the rails

the ford system uses a (24) pin connector so what is the 3 pin connector for?

Personally, I would just install the OE unit if I can locate one. But I just want to make sure it's just a plug 'n play deal. I don't want to do any modding if I can help it.

Sorry to hear. I have a 2008 FX4 am trying to find a good solution to the overhead rail dvd, or how to make one fit. I guess I can just take it in to a shop, but am more of a do it yourself person. Am lookin gat power acoustic 11.2" and it says it comes with a ring for contoured ceilings, I wonder if that will work to make it a nice clean installation.
