Post z110bt vs avn726e

Has anyone on here had experience with the both of these units? The eclipse has 5volt preout compared to 4volt preout on the pioneer. That appears to be the only advantage to the eclipse. HERE is the situation, I have a f90 bt in my f150. Im lookin to upgrade to one of these units with the full screen. The new pioneer z series is very fast compared to the f series. I will put the f90 in my suv, or sell it. Here is my dillema, I can definately install this myself. It would cost me 350 less to install the z110 in the f150 myself and reinstall the f90 into the suv. In order to achieve this I would be getting the z110 on line from one of the normal discount spots, my hesitation is the fact with a unit as complicated as navigation if there is a glitch with the unit a warranty really isnt there. If i pay the 350 more to let the shop install the unit, then warranty wont be an issue. See what I am gettin at? So here is the short list, install z110 in the f150, transfer the f90 to the exploder for 1500 out the door, or purchsae unit myself for 1000, get the serius tuner and IPbus to add satellite to the exploder while transferring the f90 to that vehicle. Total cost diy is 1150, relying on getting a good unit out of the box and having no issues, or 350 more for authorized shop to install? Also any info on the eclipse? It is alot less costly

Or you could just by the Z from an authorized dealer and install it yourself?

well the authorized price is the same as i could let the shop install it for. Buying it from crutchfield I would just have the satisfaction of diy, so i dunno. I dont like the shop anymore, their work isnt what it used to be.

If your confident, do it yourself. I know id rather pay more and not have issues/be covered if I do have issues, ya know? What exactly are you trying to accomplish again? (list form would be awesome) i can see if I can do some research and get you some good prices.

Really I just want to get the z110, sisnce it is an improvement over the f series. The installation is easy . I had the shop install the f90bt a year ago, only because it was my first nav unit and was worried if there were problems with the unit itself, all I would have to do is go to the shop and they had to deal with it. Now if I am going to do it myself I might as well save some money and get the unit for less. There again its the same issue, hoping to get A good unit out of the box so there is no headache.Puting it together isnt difficult. The rest of my system is fine for now. I have done all that myself. It was funny, when i had the shop do the f90, I had to hook up the vss myself and redo the bypass properly.. anyhow im gonna either sell the f90 or put in the suv for the wifey. Im wondering if pioneer will have somethn else out thats even better after the year goes on. The f90 wasnt out long before they improved it.

I would get the Z110BT. You can use the "price grabber guarantee" on 6ave.com's site and get it for $949.95 w/free shipping. Not sure what you were looking to pay for it but that's the best I've found. At one time they have them for less than $900 but it didn't last long.

With the F90, you should be able to just unplug that deck and plug your Z right in. The harness should be the same on both, the only thing that may be different is the ipod cable.

Funny you say that. I stopped at the stereo shop to look at the z110 and demo it on there wall. At this shop I have bought alot of stuff uver the counter there and done the work myself. I asked the sales guy if the harnesses were the same. He said no they arent. Even the rca plug is different. I didnt know whether to beleive him or not. I will be calling pioneer to ask.

I'm pretty sure everything is the same except the RCAs. You also may need to redo your bypass--not sure (if you did it for the F90).
