My second Brandmotion navigation system just died. The first on died in under a year and they swapped it out. This one died after a year, no longer covered under warranty. They asked if I wanted to buy another. I said that they needed to make a product that would last at least a year and a half before I would buy it. The system no longer sees the satellites, signal to noise ratio on all channels is 0. tried several re-boots and reinitializes to no avail. opened up the unit to check the antenna connection as well.

 

No point in buying Brandmotion's Magellan unit. Magellan is no longer offering map updates for them. I actually bought a map update, thinking it was an update, and found out it was the same map already installed. Brandmotion told me in an email that they have no plans to make a new model -- which means I guess I'm going to have to look at the, more expensive, Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT.

MTYLERB, I'm sorry you ended up buying the same software that was in the unit we shipped you. The last software update issued by Magellan was 5.36 and we have been shipping units with it since January 2008. We're disappointed that Magellan hasn't issued any more map updates for the 760 that our FD71 is based on, and as a result we've had to discontinue the product.

Do you gents see any interest in us modifying our housing to hold a newer NAV unit for 2004-2008 F150s? We've still got the tools....
