Custom POIs on Sync/Nav unit?
Custom POIs on Sync/Nav unit?
Just got my new 2010 s-crew and love it. I used to use a Garmin GPS and I loaded all of the red light camera locations in North America into it so that it would warn me when I got close to one. Worked great. Paid for itself in a few months. Yes, I'm a little heavy footed at times. At least the warnings slowed me down.
Garmin calls these "Custom POI's". Anyone know if it is possible to load Custom POI's into the Ford/Sync nav system? Sure would be a thing of beauty!
Thanks in advance.

There doesn't appear to be any user capability to program anything into these Nav units !
I have an '09 though and I can't even upgrade the hardware in it, so they claim is required for the new voice commands. I find that hard to believe as it should only be another software upload, unless it needs more hard drive storage space and with the cost of hard drives now that should be an easy mod but you know they are going to wring every last penney out of you!
I just read that the '10 models have a different GPS unit in them that is required to have the turn-by-turn upgrade. Anybody looked into changing out their GPS unit? Where is it located and is it hard to get to?
