Let's solve this

Ok so most of us know that 05-08 stock navs do not have Bluetooth and all the phone button does is mute the radio or like mine and it doest even do anything.

I have always wondered this. The ford edges have the sync system and the nav in them is exactly the same as the f-150s.

I wan to find out if there is anyway to take a sync nav out of an edge and put it in the f-150 to get nav and bluetooth.

Has any one tried this or is anyone willing to investigate more into this?

I dont think all sync components are contained in the radio itself.

You would require all the components from the donor vehicle, and the head/nav unit would have to be reprogrammed to use the vss (vehicle speed sensor) signal of the F150. Both the vss and the backlighting of the system in the Edge are controlled by the Instument Cluster and Smart Junction Box through the MS Can bus, which the F150 does not have. (Until the 2009 MY) You would need to create a wiring harness to connect the APIM or Sync module to the head unit, and create a MS Can bus so that they can communicate.
