Spoke with the installer (outsourced from dealer). Evidently their is a difference from the NAV installed on the production line and the after purchase Ford Nav Product. Not quite OEM. At least not Original.

The production line is a 9" screen NAV, Gen 1, that would would have the wood grain console facia plate.
The After Purchase Ford NAV, available in Generation 2, is a 7" screen and only a black console facia plate.

I could be mixing it up, but definately confusing. It sounded like I coul dnot get the Production line version.

Anyone else know details?

 

I found out more info.

The Sony NAV in the 2008 and earlier years F150 and Flex (possibly others) is the Generation 1.
The 2010 F150, Mustang,Flex etc will have the Generation 2.
