symptoms of unprogrammed nav ?

I am taking the nav to get possibly programmed tomorrow. But i have a 2008 f-150 with audiophile, sirius and obviously steering controls. OEM was working in the previous vehicle. We installed it in my truck and it powers on briefly (all buttons light up, it goes through cd check) and then powers off. My question is this typically seen with an un-programmed unit ?

The unit is a 7L1T-18K931-BF.

Problem solved. Got the guy Will(suggested by others on the forum) to program my Nav unit works like a champ now. Just need to get the new dvd as the one I have is damaged

BTW Will is an AWESOME guy and went out of his way to program my unit. Took about 5 minutes to get it all squared away. He was local so I met him at his place to do the programming.

Yeah right now I am looking everywhere for a freaking Navteq DVD. All dealers are out of stock and SUPPOSEDLY it was a national back order. They dont even have a 6p. One place has a 4p but they want 200 bucks for it. I have a 6p sitting in front of me, but it cant read the disc. I popped it into my pc and apparently there are a couple of files that are corrupt. After looking at the disc i can tell that its warped. NO NAV until i can get one. hell i will even take a copy and burn it myself if i can find one.
