2009 Nav Map Updates

Does anyone know how the map updates will work with the 2009+ with the factory Nav?

Not sure. I'm still rocking the 7P version. Not rushing to update. Check here:

I just checked their website and they're asking $199 for an update CD. Isn't that kind of pricey for just a map update. Is NAVTEQ the same thing as the original OEM map. When I check the map version on my '09 Platinum it shows version 1.0x in one place and version 65480 in another place. Does anyone know what the latest version that I can update to is?

Navteq is the map supplier to the tier one which is Claron. The map in the unit is made by Navteq as well as the updates. If you were to order the upgrade, you will receive a update dvd pack and a unlock code. This is just like installing microsoft software on your PC. Once the code is used, you can not take the disk and install the map software on your friends car.
