Corvette Nav in F150
It will work as long as you can mount it where it fits right (which won't happen unless you have custom made mounting brackets) and if you can get a GM wiring harness then wire it to a Ford harness for 12+, ground, acc, and all your speakers. More than likely if you have the top mounted aux jack it won't work with the new headunit. And honestly if you're going to get a nav unit for your truck, go aftermarket for the reasons they will have auxiliary inputs, video outputs (to rear monitors if you have passengers or children who like to watch movies on long road trips), subwoofer preouts (if you want to leter on add some "thump" to your ride). Pioneer makes some of the best units for audio equalization, and in today's mobile technology you can pick up some DVD/Nav units for around $600 or $700 in stores. Also, they won't be made by GM.
I agree. You can get any unit to work in any application with a little know-how and some patience, but by the time you got done fabricating a bracket up, getting the wiring done, etc, you would be better off spening about $500 on an Avic F-series. If you really wanted to do the 'vette navigation, you'd have to find the wiring harness from the car that plugs into the NAV and have them cut it out, then find a wiring diagram and take the time to label which wires you need and the ones you do not.
I wouldn't go through the hassle of putting the Corvette nav in your F150, but I would definitely pick one up for $150. Throw it on eBay and buy a good aftermarket or Ford one with the profits.
Amen.
It would have been impossible. The 08 GM uses a LAN network and wouldve been impossible to turn on without an interface that sent the VIN number to the radio to turn it on. Funny thing is they dont make a piece to do that.
Then getting it to fit would be damn near impossible without a ton of work, at least the antenna wouldnt need any adapters...
