crazy little light problem

Need some help guys.

Installed the new overhead DVD in the wifes truck, had to pull the headliner to put up bracing.

got a new problem. The interior lights work when the doors are open but they do not work if you push them on. No vanity lights either.

Yes we plugged everything in but I cannot find where the power goes to from the wiring. Have checked passenger kick panel nothing there looks like what what is overhead.

There are three wires...yellow/green, black with purple and solid purple making me think 1 ground, 1 constant and 1 switch.

all fuses are good.

Anyone want to take a gander?

2008 Ford Expedition.

Thanks RR

Are you 100% sure every switch is solid? Have you connected the Alpine to the overhead domelights? Have you tested all the wires? If I remember right its a + switch, 12v and a gnd.

And its no fuse?!? Were any wires nicked? Because it reminds me of the cons. wire being dead and the + switch is handling the lights right now.
Where did you go for power, switched and ground for the unit?

No, we found a common wire so they are independent. Have you tested all the wires? yes and no. I need to get my guys back over and help me trace with a multimeter. If I remember right its a + switch, 12v and a gnd. Yeah I think thats right also

I suspect that its under the driver kick panel but I haven't had the SUV long enough to pull it again.

Thanks for the post...it is driving me crazy as I want to get it solved so I can start onverting all the interior lights over toe LED's.

Drives me crazy that I cannot find this group of wires.
