Anyone have an Ipod Touch?
Well, I know its not what you would want to hear, but the Touch is not worth it. Costs more than the nano but same capacity. All that is being paid for is that fancy touching stuff which inevitibly leads to shorter battery life when compared to nano or classic.
Personally, a year ago, I went out to buy a touch 16G. However, I ended up buying a 160G (10X the size) Classic for $50 less.
Ipod touch is viral, and really not worth the money. Of course, Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I too agree, the touch is cool but it seems to be so lacking compared to the iphone. IMO the touch is a very pricey iphone without the phone or internet everywhere. The new nanos are really cool looking.
I think they also just came out with a 32gb also. My sis has one and loves it. Personally I think it is a waste of money. I am totally happy with my 160gb classic, which is now been downsized to the 120gb.
They are pretty cool. They have a lot of features that really make the device, like games, wi-fi, touch screen. If you only use it for music and movies, it probably isn't worth it. I recommend getting the most memory possible. Movies take up a lot of space fast.
I purchased a 32 Gig touch and I love it. I have close to 800 songs on it 12 ful length movies. many music videos. and over 200 applications ( I am at 16Gig at the monment). I use the applications more than anything else. I paid $500 for mine and would be lost without it. I am a network admin and regularly launch RDP sessions from my touch to check out servers and fix minor issues. The applications is what makes this device worth it, from bussiness to educational programs to games, the interface really makes everything easy. I agree you get more from the iPhone but the ATT plans are way to much money per month. I have my wireless setup for all the locations I am normally at plus all the hot spots, it does very well. I use email calandering GTalk, web browsing. It is a great device.

Correct, it can access the internet just like the iphone, but only while your in a WiFi hotspot. You just link up to the hotspot like you do with your notebook.
I bought my wife an ipod touch and she loves the ipod part, but not so interested with the touch part. When we got it, we went to a hotspot, got on to the internet and read our mail just to see it work, but never did it again.
I really like the ipod, and would like to get one myself. I think she will get a new nano, and I'll get the touch.
The touch has very nice features, but it is larger, heavier, cost more, and uses more battery.

For the poster who said the Touch isn't worth it, and that you're paying big $$$ for the "touchy" thing...I suspect he's never picked one up and actually used it!
The touch contains most of the functions of the iPhone...without the phone, of course. This means apps are available on the app store, and there are tons to pick from. The video screen's a bit larger than the Classic. You can access the web via a Wi-Fi hotspot, as has already been stated here...but you can also surf the web at home if you've got a wireless router.
Bottom line, IMHO, is the the Touch is a LOT more than just an overpriced iPod Classic.

The second gen's are thinner and alot lighter. I had a 80 gig classic, and didnt even fill an 1/8 th of the space. Got a gen 1 touch, and loved it, then got a gen 2 the day it came out and is much better. The design is better, thinner and lighter, built in speaker which is awesome for movies and music. Anyone who says it isnt worth it has not played with it enough. I am on mine literally all day, and not a single problem with battery life either. And the touch is exactly the same as the iphone minus the ability to call, and internet anywhere and the camera. Minus those three things and they are identical.
I don't know if I have a gen 1 or gen 2. I recently got it, so I think it is gen 2. How do I know the difference?
My buddy and his wife bought their daughter a Touch as well, but his wife plays with the darn thing more often. They're addictive.
He has the iPhone, as do I, and they really can be difficult to put down sometimes. They're awesome when you have to wait, for whatever reason. Sure helps the time pass by.
You may get hooked on it yourself, wandell, so be careful.
