help with navigation and audiophile sub

so my dad brought home an audiophile subwoofer from a 04 f150 and he has a 08 lariat supercrew. anyways, he has the navigation system but it didn't have the audiophile system with it. we plugged in the subwoofer with the plug under the rear seat and the sub doesn't work. any suggestions?

Blown sub...? Fried Amp...? The problem is most likely the truck not being audiophile from the factory so the Nav unit might no have the output for the subwoofer... im not sure though. Have you tested the audiophile sub and amp? or was it working when you took it out of another truck?

I would take it to the Ford dealer and say it came factory but stopped working. Have them play with it.

The Dealer or someone with the secret codes to program it can fix it.

I can tell you one secret about the NAV systems, with the car and NAV on press the 3 and 6 preset buttons at the same time for 2 seconds. This will access the system info and tell you which functions are enabled, disabled and or how they are programmed. There is a specific line there that enables/disables the subwoofer section. It will also do a speaker test, show error DTC codes and all sorts of cool stuff.

If Only I knew the secret code to access the program menu it would be easy to make changes.

I have an extra sub from a wreck, and my buddy has a 08 f150 with nav, and we tried plugging it in, same situation, he has the plug in the back but it didnt work. In the 08s they changed the fuze box up and where the sub fuse went....nothing there. I spoke with my dealer and he said that they changed it. I dont know if there is any other way to get it to plug in...maybe with that code. Worth asking if you are in with a guy at the dealership.
