Xbox in Truck

Hey guys.. Just got a new HU and was wondering...

Can i just buy one of the smoke lighter converters that changes the DC outlet into an ordinary household outlet to play my Xbox through?

Will one of those have enough wattage so i don't blow anything up? haha

thanks,
B

Yes you can.

The better option would be to hard wire in an inverter. I have a 1000 watt under my passenger seat with a "game plate" (audio/video intout and a 110v plug) mounted in the passenger side of my center console for the in dash monitor and another one on the back of my console for the rear headrest monitors. There is also another outlet available for use under the passenger seat. It is the slickest set-up, I use it all the time.

As the the cig-liter version. I used to go that route origionally, and still do when we take the 4runner, as we haven't finished the Audio/Video system yet. On a side note, I honestly don't know how people took kids on road trips without DVDs or game systems! They almost turn into little angels back there (almost)! And as a bonus, it gives me an excuse to buy my audio/vidoe systems!

The most important number to watch on those is the Amp rating. Most time the Wattage is WAYYY overrated.
