This is the second camera Im trying to hook up because the first one I thought was broke...well Im starting to think IM doing something wrong. Im using a Boyo VTL420. Hooking the red to 12V+ and black to ground. And than testing if the camera works by applying the purple reverse wire from the DNX7100 to the 12V+ which should in turn enable the monitor and show the camera display but its not working?

whats going on? I have a 12V tester and 12V tests good. I also have the yellow RCA plugged into the reverse Female RCA from the 7100.

Any help would be appreciated!Im going nuts...I want this camera installed..

 

Ive tried one Kenwood on the Rev wire (Black/Pink in the DKP and I think I remember it being the wrong polarity for the Kenwood. Either a switch or a relay would work here... But it has been over a yr and I dont fully remember)

 

I have the same camera, I didnt hook mine up but remembered looking at the wires. There is a acc. 12v wire and a ground wire plus there is a wire that gets tapped into your reverse lights and the rca cable. 4 wires all together.

 

yah thats right and you tap the line from the head unit to the reverse light

 

I figured it out myslef...had to go into AV interface and enable reverse camera interuption
