older eclipse update - 2006?
older eclipse update - 2006?
Just finished installing sirius into my screw, and lo and behold, I never got the update for the 5495 back in '06 for the sirius functionality.
Anyone have this update they'd care to post? I have a web host that can manage it...
TIA,
Dave

that one was the newest update I was looking for; now I'm looking for the patch they came out with in May 2006 for the sirius/HD radio functionality. I was hoping that someone was hosting it, or had it ripped so they could upload it to a host.

Go look around on the tundrasolutions.com forum. Eclipse is the OEM for their nav systems. Lots of mods etc. around there for Eclipse and you should be able to find someone to hook you up.
I got the update dvd for my old avn 2454 mailed to me for $20 back in the day...about the cost of postage and a double layer 8gb DVDR

Thanks for that; I tired over there & am waiting on a response. I also called Eclipse & they took my info & said they were going to get a disc out to me with the sirius/HD radio update gratis. Looks like they also are still having tech issues with the new map update for the 5495, as they told me it might be available in about a month.
Thanks again,
Dave

Glad to hear you got it worked out. I can't remember if the avn5495 needs a nav DVD to work or if it uses a HD.
If it's on a burned DVD that you leave in the unit, go ahead and rip a disk image to your PC for back up purposes. My burned update DVD for my older avn2454 eventually wore out. The dye on burnable DVDs and CDs isn't all that stable and with the constant heating and cooling found inside your head unit, the disk will eventually wear out and your head unit will start doing really screwy things. Took about a year and 20,000 miles for me.
