I'm ready to start thinking about buying an in-dash for my truck. I'm debating between one that flips out and one that is just the screen. I like the idea of a flip-out because they look less appealing to the common thief just walking by.

If I went the flip-out route, I'd like something that has some side to side rotation as well as up and down.

I want one that has either HD based navigation, or one that has a removable unit.

I'd like DVD capability, as well as all the other good formats.

Bluetooth doesn't really matter to me.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

I have the Alpine iva-d310, which is a flip out and love it. But when i go off roadd i have to close it. Iafter all you have said, look for a iva-w205 of iva-505. both have the blackbird, alpines removable nav. which is nice cause you can take it in any vehicle...
