Headrest Monitors

Has anyone purchased a set of the aftermarket headrests with the monitors already installed? I am considering these b/c I can get a pair for $245 on ebay with 10.4" monitors. My worries are they going to match my black leather and is the slightly different headrest going to look funny? I already know they will not have the white stitching. Any thoughts or feedback from those of you who have these or might have considered buying them? There is a local shop here in Louisville where I can get two 7" monitors and have them installed for just over $600. I will be using my in-dash Kenwood DDX-6019 as the dvd player.

I went ahead and purchased the pre-installed set off ebay. They should arrive tomorrow. If I'm happy with the match, I'll take some pics once they're installed.

Just curious, what kind of truck do you have with black leather and white stitching? My black leather has black stitching, dont think ive ever seen the white. Just curious.

I have a 2004 FX4 Super Crew. It has the black leather with the white stitching. I hadn't really paid much attention to it until I ordered the Lariat black leather console lid from Tasca and it had black stitching. These headrests will be the same way based on what I see in the pictures. They should be delivered today or tomorrow, so I'll know soon if they look funny. I'll keep you posted.

Definately post some pics when you get them installed. I looked at these also but was afraid the shape and style would not be like the OEM's. Hope they work out for you.

Headrest installation

I received my TKO universal headrest monitors today. They did not come with a connection/switch box...just audio/video, ground and power wires coming out of each headrest. I thought the pair came with a connection box, but it didn't. What do I do??

Contact the seller? From what I have seen that box is needed and should be included!

Thanks. The seller has been contacted, but probably won't hear back from them until Monday. I went to Best Buy and Circuit City last night with no success. I'll try a couple of other places and see if I have any luck.

No luck at Wal-Mart...I need something with two video outputs. Next up, two more high-end car stereo shops if the ebay seller I purchsed from doesn't send me a connection box.

Hook up A/V outs from your Kenwood to the Headrests (or do they have some dumb pin setup?). Then connect power/ground.

you should just be able to get an rca splitter from ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Composite-RC...QQcmdZViewItem
hook them up and run power and i dont see why it would need anything else.

I think thats the point, the auction lists the splitter box but he didnt receive it. Of course you can buy a splitter, but why not contact the seller and get what you paid for.

I would like to see them installed as well
