Avic-D3 Navication Antenna location

For those of you running your nav antenna under the dash on the metal strip are you getting a good signal? I am installing this weekend so wanted to make sure that was a good spot. Thanks

I have two sat. antennas under the wiper cowl and one under the dash pad in between the speedo and the windshield. No problems at all.

Mine too. Works great. Although I have a Kenwood DNX 5120 and it comes with a metal strip with adhesive backing. I just cut the strip to the width of the bar and bent a little right angle in it so the antenna sits more level, then zip tied it in place. May be a little over kill, but since I am working on my own vehicle, a little over kill is a good thing, agreed?
