Thanks to both Hypo & Naplesbill for your responses. I thought this was the case with the 2008 Kenwoods, where the translator box would no longer be needed. However, you'll find that many of the online shops are still trying to sell the more expensive setup involving both the tuner & the translator along with these newer units. Glad I have these forums which prevented me from being screwed out of an extra $60!
