Avic D3 Question clearified...

Hey everyone, i dont need a ton of answers on this one i just need something clearified because i am getting two different answers. After seeing all the hype about the Avic D3 on this forum i went out and bought one for my 04 screw. I was in ultimate electronics today and when i asked they guy there about the bypass, he said you can't do it on them now...? something about a gyro deal that is in there and as soon as that thing moves it locks the DVD from being played. On here i have herd you can bypass it, so i am a bit confused. Can it be bypassed or not? Thanks in advanced.

I just installed mine yesterday and did the bypass when I wired it up. It works flawlessly whether in motion or not. I did it so I can have full Bluetooth and navigation features while moving, but the video works too. Whoever you spoke to at Ultimate is either uninformed or misleading you. My guess is the former..

Maybe something he HAS to tell customers because of legal issues. My D3 should be in any day now and I know I'm gonna be doing the bypass when I get it installed.

I bypassed my D1 today and so far it works perfect while in motion. I used the blue a. antenna wire and grounded it to the black ground wire as well as grounding the parking brake (green) wire. Seems odd that professional installers acted like they had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned it to them....they must be trained to act like it is impossible to bypass the pioneer. They even gave me the same line about the "gyro" inside the unit which cuts the video off when in motion.

I am a professional installer. I wont tell my customers the bypass while Im on the clock. But I wont BS them either.

I know quite a few installers that dont have a clue about the bypass because its not only ground the pk brake. And dont want to go any further.

would you do the bypass for someone off the clock? i tried to get some installers to do it for me but they acted like they had no clue what i was talking about. i even offered CASH/no receipt and still nobody took me up on it. glad i did it on my own though. it took about 5 minutes after i figured out what color my auto antenna wire was.
