Avic D2 & D3 differences?

Can anyone tell me if there are any big design or function diffs between the Avic D2 and Avic D3? I know the D2 has 2 seperate slots (one for nav & one for media) but other than that, the specs look about the same...

I've seen some good deals on E-bay for refurbed D2's but I don't know what the big difference is.

Thanks,

Okay here you go.

D2
+dual drives-so you do not have to take out your nav disc and worry about it getting scratched.
+6.5 inch screen vs D3 6.1
-Ipod interface is very limited
-Bluetooth does not work very well
-Sirius tuner PNR2 is now discontinued if you like Sirius

D3
-single drive so if you want to listen to a cd and do not have a cd changer you have to take the Nav disc out which is not cheap to replace.
-smaller screen
+Ipod control is better
+Bluetooth works better
+New Sirius tuner will work with it
+Aux input on the front face

I have a D2 that I just inherited from the wife. I have gotten spoiled to the bluetooth in the wifes new car. So to sum it up the D3 has a smaller screen but the accy's work better.

Hey man,
I'm no expert on these things, but the main difference as far as I can tell is that the D2 has the 2 slots so you don't have to remove your Navi disc, but it CANNOT play DVDs. If you want to watch movies, go with the D3.

There's a great site called avic411. Check it out for more info.

quicktsi,
Great info, exactly what I needed. Thank you for taking the time to answer

arsenalgunner,
The dvd playback had me confused but you cleared it up. I swear I read a description somewhere and it said that it played DVD...maybe it was DVD ROM, which is the Nav disc...

Both of you got me where I need to be. Thanks.

i recommend the eclipse avn 5510. dual drive, plays dvds, sirius, ipod, bluetooth and hd compatible...fairly inexpensive. also the avn 6610 if you want dual dvd drives instead of 1 cd and 1 dvd. i am very happy with mine. contact nothinbutaford(mark) on here.....he did my install.
