Avic Z1/Z2 firmware upgrade
I know this is old and may even be a repost of sorts, but I just found out about it today.
There is a patch out for the Z1/Z2 that will correct a lock-up problem. Reportedly, the units will lock up due to heat. I'm not sure it's a heat problem since it happened to my wife's Z2 today and it was *MAYBE* 60 degrees when it happened.
Anyway, the units will power up, play, and you can control the sound via the audio controls/ steering wheel remote (if you have one), but the display will only show the boot up splash screen.
If you are having similar issues, there is a patch to download from Pioneer as well as instructions on how to install it. It can be found here:

I have a D2 in my truck and haven't experienced any of these issues, so it looks to be a Z1/Z2 problem only.
