Need help please Ford GPS

Hello all, really need someones help, I purchased a GPS unit from ebay that suggested it was programmed for a 150 - thinking I could install in my 2006 Ford 500 - I have it in and all working except the GPS - the tests tell me it does not speak with the car re speed - milage etc - when I test these areas are not working, the GPS not receiving symbol is on the touchscreen. My questions.

Are all antennes the same ? I picked one up but it may be the wrong one.
Does this unit need to be flashed by the ford dealer or something? If so is that done but a computer hook up to the front of the car or will teh unit have to come out and sent to someone ?

I realize this is an F 150 site but I could find no where else to go...feel free to direct me to an approiate site if I shouldn't be here.

Really appreciate any help.
John

The unit needs to be flashed for your car. The GPS icon suggests that you do not have the GPS antenna properly placed or hooked up properly. It's not the end of the world, just send it out and you will be happier in the long run.....
