Emergency Help Needed:

I have a Kenwood double-din DVD dash unit, and somehow (my fault) 2 CD's got put into the CD slot. Now the motorized unit doesn't go back to the "closed" position and my stereo store is basically telling me I'm screwed.

Any suggestions?

1. It's NOT an "Emergency" - it's only a Fekkin' stereo - so dont be using the 'Cry Wolf' card like that agian. good grief.

2. Yes - you are screwed, dumbass. You are looking at a facility to disassemble and extract. At your expense

Kids......

Is your stereo store the one that you bought it from? Poor customer service if it is. Accidents do happen. Even if it's under warranty, I am not sure that would cover your case. But short of taking the unit apart and trying to get the CD's out, the store may not be far off. If nothing else, you may have to pay a repair shop to take it apart for you and get them out.

Thanks MGDfan! ...you ridiculous tool bag. It's really necessary to call someone a dumbass for a simple mistake. I'm sure you live your life to perfection on a daily basis, and I'm sure you have many great friends because you're such a nice and understanding guy. I'm also sure none of this is sarcasm and that in reality you're a tremendous douche that offers no help, but instead wastes key strokes belittling people who may or may not be as intelligent as you, sir.

Edit: I titled the thread "emergency" because I wanted a quick response before I drop serious coin at the stereo store.

I've seen this a couple times, I used tweezers, and a credit card to get the extra 1 out, then the other ejected fine..both times, you might have to reset the unit after taking out the 1.

Thanks DRJ and Low e, I flattened out a pair of tweezers and used another CD and finally got them both out, and amazingly it works like a charm. The stereo store by my house didnt want to touch it - previous owner had the instal done, so I had no idea who to take it to. Now to figure out how to install the nav system...
