As of now, I'm leaning towards the Kenwood 7100, though I'm hoping to read some more about the Panasonic Strada and Clarion systems.
i have never had a problem with a route that i have inputed into the d3...i have checked each route i have entered with mapquest,yahoo,etc... and each time my d3 has chosen the exact same as all those sites online.

yes i have read that it sometimes chooses a bad route, but that is easily taken care of when you tell it to calculate multiple routes, then simply choose the best one.

if the nav/gps is your main focus then i would suggest just buying a nav/gps unit. they will outperform all headunits, and save you about $600-$1000.

Best Nav system is the Free maps at the DMV, or the $1-$2 maps at the C-Store.

Next, print off the directions on yahoo.

ok, heres my input, as apparently i am the only one with an eclipse unit. i had "nuthingbutaford" install it into my expedition. it looks like it belongs there from the factory. i had the oem navigation, and it was "ok" for awhile, but was really lacking(older cd-based unit with 12 discs). the eclipse is dvd based(one disc for all of usa, just select region before travel), but the face folds down and reveals 2 slots....one for dvd's/map disc, and the other for music cd's. i have full use of my steering wheel controls and overhead dvd player, and my reverse sensors work properly. also, mark did something so that i can watch dvd's while in motion(just tested it to see if it would work, wont really do it), and i can get directions on the run, unlike my oe unit where i had to come to a stop to make any changes. i am having him install an eclipse 8 disc changer tomorrow as well, as i miss my oem one. if i remember right, i paid 1500 installed with all options working. fyi, i have the avn 5510. i can add 2 cd changers, ipod, sirius, backup camera, hd radio.....none of which i plan to, but its possible. hope that helps. more info available if requested.

edit: when i select a destination, i can choose from 3 routes on the scrrento get there. that alone is very useful.

Embrace technology, don't push it away.

When was the last time that Yahoo print out told you mid-route that there was a construction delay or accident on your way to an important meeting or trip?

Cannot tell you how much time I have saved by being able to "auto reroute" while in route.

So it seems like they are all very good systems, just depends on what you want out of it. Like I was looking around and I really like the Strada just because of usability (being very similar to a factory one I've used in the past) and price but not really considering it now after finding out about how non-interactive the bluetooth option is. On the other hand the kenwood DNX7100 seems to be nice; any other opinions on the Kenwood? It already seems like the majority like the Pioneer Z2
