Installed my D3

Hi all
My first post and I have completed the installation of my Pioneer AVIC-D3 and GEX-P920XM Sat tuner. It is in my 2004 F150 Scab. I took a few pics but I need to sort them and post them later.

I did much research on this site and AVIC411.com, my thanks to all who posted helpful hints (especially the one about removing the rear seat back).
I did the D3 bypass as shown on AVIC411.com and no problems.
A few items I used was a tremendous help during the install: Metra 99-5807 Install Kit (makes it clean as factory). Scosche FD23 Wiring connector (Did not cut a single wire on my truck).

Now I need to get a bluetooth adapter and a rear camera!!!

Great site. Thanks.

Congrats on the install Hawg. I spend at least 15 minutes a day looking at D3's online with my mouse cursor hovering over the "Buy" button. Maybe your pics will push me over the edge.

congrats. I did the same thing about 3 weeks ago but I went with the Z2. Pioneer makes some great products, you're going to love it.

Here they are.
Before I pulled the OEM radio (in B&W thanks to my son messing with the camera).

Installed.

Here is where I put the XM tuner, looking in behind glove box.

XM antenna on the roof

Took about one day in all but I took my time and did it right.
I just bought this truck on July 03. I love it!

Good Job. I installed my antenna in the same place. Besure to check it for water leakage.

Nice addition, yeah gotta watch for leaks. When i had mine done, it rained that night and it leaked a fair bit. Had to remove the 3rd brake light and put some silicone around the wires.

Looks great. I would also like to add that you might want to put electrical tape around any of that sharp steel that we all have in our dash. That will eliminate the possibility for any bearage of wires and or shortages in the future. Just my 2 cents.
