I primarily want to upgrade my head unit to control a 80gb iPod in my Truck. Navigation is a plus but I do have it on my Treo when I HAVE to use it.

I have heard that the Z1 was a pain with the iPod and the Alpine IVA-W200 is a much better choice.

Anyone use a Z1 primarily with an iPod and are happy with it?

 

Take it from a Z1 user that relies heavily on his iPod. Unless you want to use a playlist for the rest of your life get a IVA-W200. I love the Z1...enough to keep it regardless of the iPod...but the Pioneer Avic-D3 (not out yet i think) has a updated iPod cable that's similar to Alpine's.

 

Check out that new clarion max675vd. It's i-pod controls look pretty sweet.

I have the Z1 and the ipod adapter. yeah the ipod adapter is slow but I just put the songs I want to listen to into a playlist. I too think the z1 is well worth the money even though the ipod adapter is slow.
