what are you trying to run off of the the monitor, DVD player?

You might want to get a tv tuner for an lcd monitor, that may work instead of the RCA-VGA cable.

yah you prolly need a tuner for it to work, which probably will eliminate that vga-rca cable. You should just need a standard male-male rca cable.

Definetly do some research on the tuner before you buy one, b.c id hate to waste your money if its not what you need.

Also wouldnt hurt to plug the monitor into a comp, just to verify that it works, and powers up etc.

What you need is something to convert an analog signal (RCA) to a digital signal. ((VGA or DVI) (unless your monitor has analog inputs))
I think it would be less expensive just to buy a new monitor that has analog inputs on it.
