yeah, but gorunding the brake wire only works some times. Some people have hooked it up to the headlight switch and just turn the lights on and off real fast and it bypasses it. Im not sure how they did it but do a search or ask and they help you with that.
that one will most likely need to see a ground, no ground, ground. so you will need a toggle switch to bypass it. the manual will tell you to apply the e brake, release the e brake, and re-engage it.

jmt0645, hey I just installed the unit you are talking about into my truck. The bypass to watch videos when you are moving depends on when your unit was built. The ealier units require you to hook everything up as you would normally then when you start your truck and the unit is booting you would turn your headlights on and off at a certain time. You could do that everytime or you could buy a bypass circuit that would make the unit think that you turned your lights on, that why you wouldnt have to remember to do it everytime or if you have HID's installed you wouldnt run the risk of burning them up flashing them all the time. The newer units (like mine) require you to ground the parking brake wire and another pin on the back of the unit, it's not that hard but it is frustrating fiddling with the connector to get that on grounded. anyway go here for more bypass info for the Z1, it will give you a lot of info and this is what I follwed when getting mine to work.

hope that helps you out some.
If anyone really cares, a guy up here in alaska got charged with second degree murder for getting into an accident while having his in-dash dvd player on (which he modified to let work while moving). He said that it was for his passenger to watch while he drove, but the DA didnt believe him.

BTW akheloce, are you a year rounder? My bro-in-law runs a fishing charter out of the spit. Was up there last summer, very nice town.
Yeah, I technically live there year round, but my job has been making me stay in anchorage more and more... I keep an apartment in Anchorage, in addition to my house in Homer which I've only gotten to on the weekends recently.
I may or may not know or have heard of your bro-in-law, since I think the number of charters has tripled in the 10 years I've lived there... lots of new faces.

Do you think grounding the brake wire on this TV tuner will work also?http://www.crutchfield.com/S-znjLape...130P5700TV#Tab

Is it true that all I have to do is ground the e-brake wire to be able to watch DVD's while moving.
