Help!
Hey everyone, please forgive me for probably goinmg over a subject beaten to death previously, but I don't have time too read ALL the threads about in-dash navigation, and I need some quick answers.
My 2004 screw was broken into last nite, driver window shattered, my dashtop gps was stolen, and I have about a week before I am leaving on a cross-country trip. I was wondering which in-dash unit would be compatable with the audiophile, with the steering wheel controls, and with ipod integration. Thanks in advance for letting me be lazy, I just don't have time to read all the threads and do the research properly

Also, as I read the specs for these units, it does not specifically address the compatibility with the audiophile/steering whells controls. Any idea which one is compatible, if any? And are some of these the older models, newer are better? Thanks
If you can get the hardware a unit can be easily installed in half a day. I have an Eclipse AVN6600, which is a dual DVD unit, in 2005 Lariat. Configured with the iPod adapter and Sirius satellite radio. I have a PAC SWI-ECl and have fully operational steering wheel controls. Here's a link to pictures of my install https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=7700. The Eclipse AVN6600 has full iPOD support. The cheaper Eclipse AVN5500 will lose you a few of the iPod functions. The Eclipse website is has a table with the features supported by each unit.
The Pioneer AVIC-Z1 is another good choice based on ither reader's comments. the only disparaging things I've heard is that the iPod functions are slow.Others who have this unit can give you better info.
I really like my unit. I replaced the stock speakers with some 3-way Pioneer units which have worked great. I can run with all windows down and enjoy the music. With the old 6 CD stock unit and factory speaker it was near impossible to do so.
Hope this helps and good luck.
