No, Unfortunately the map disk must be in at all times to have navigation. The disc is held i the dvd slot so it makes it impossible to watch a DVD while navigating, also if ou do ot install the system yourself the people that put it i install a wire that makes you have to put on the parking break before you can watch a movie. However, all that being said it is a great system I just purchased it a few weeks ago and it works wonderfully, the only thing I have a problem with is that the Navigation disk is about a year old, so it is missing some of the new buildings and roads that have just been built, and to get the new version of the disk is around $330, however this is the same for almost all of the navigation systems. I would definitely recomend the Eclipse AVN5435 though if you are interested in a good multimedia unit.

actually ifound the 6600 Is a newer model, and has 2 dvd slots, so i can play a dvd while driving (to the back) and still use my NAV. Kinda tight.

The trim ring you are talking about is the Metra 99-5807 dash mount kit for Ford for 2004-2006 F150's.Check out http://www.crutchfield.com/S-nhDGQOf...sp?i=120995807 for additional details. The horizontal bar is cut out for a double din unit like the Eclipse AVN6600. With the Metra kit I was able to adjust the mounting depth so the unit is flush.

My Eclipse AVN6600 pics can be seen at https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?num=11185.

Found it at Circuit City on the rack. If you go to the MISC gallery sections you'll see more detailed pictures of the Nano holder. https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=7700

cool, Thanks. Hey also, did you run yours to use your stock speakers? or did you use external amps, and new high grade speakers? How does the nano hook up to the 6600? - Roger

I've not added an amp, but did replace all 4 OEM speakers with Pioneer TS-A6871R 6"x8" 3-ways. They're exact size replacements with Ford/Mazda embossed on the speakers so were an easy exchange with the factory paper speakers. With the adapters supplied by Crutchfield they plugged right into the existing wiring. I've added a picture of the speaker installation to my gallery if interested. Haven't given much thought to an amp as the Eclipse's will drive these speakers loud enough that the truck shakes. I'm happy with the sound quality such that I would add some additional sound deadening material first before choosing the route of running all new speaker wires to the doors, the power cable to the battery, and having to remove a front seat or the rear seat to mount the amp.

For a Nano or full size iPod the Eclipse IPC-106 iPod interface controller is required, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-CBLXBuL...&display=L#Tab. Plugs into the AVN 6600 and as you can see in my photos is fully integrated into the Eclipse AVN 6600 menus.
