Kenwood 6019 Questions

Have been looking around at different head units and I seem to like this one the best for different reasons but have a few questions for those of you with this unit. First off can you still ground out the brake switch wire and use all the functions while in motion, I know you could with the old 7015 but not sure if you still can with the newer ones. Next does the rear cam come on when the truck is put in reverse? Thankds for the help.

They are blue. I see no mention in the manual on changing the color.
Nor in the setup screens. I dont have a problem with the blue myself, I'd just like to be able to change the background screen.
